Fun (Spooky?) Fact: Hampton Gardens Apartments

If you ever drive on Hampton Avenue, chances are that you have seen Hampton Gardens Apartments. Hampton Gardens is an awesome bevy of buildings that sits on 32 acres in the heart of Southwest City, right near Tilles Park. The complex is beautifully landscaped and managed very well.

So, to the fact: Hampton Gardens Apartments were built on a former potter's field, or cemetery for indigents, where many unclaimed souls from the nearby asylum (State Hospital) and the City's other "undesirables" were buried in unmarked mass graves.
